Frequently Asked Questions

What is VirtualCare?
VirtualCare refers to the “virtual visits” that take place between patients and clinicians via communications technology. The video and audio connectivity allows “virtual” meetings to occur in real time, from virtually any separate locations.
Who can use VirtualCare?
After Hours Pediatrics VirtualCare is offered by pediatric clinicians for children from newborn to 22 years of age.
What symptoms are best for VirtualCare?
Please refer to “Conditions We Treat” in the above section. If we feel at any time during your visit that we cannot safely provide your child care, we’ll share advice for the right place of care at no charge for your VirtualCare visit.
What if my child needs a lab test or prescription?
Are we offering zip ticket?
Can more than one of my children be seen during the VirtualCare visit?
Only one child can be registered and seen per visit. Please register each patient so the clinician can see each patient separately.
As parents, we know one child sick is tough, additional children is even more challenging. We want to provide the appropriate care fast. To help the clinician see multiple children within a close timeframe, please note in the comments section that you currently have more than one child registered and the names of the registered child(ren).
What technology do I need for a VirtualCare visit?
For a successful visit we recommend access to high speed internet and use a device with video and audio (such as a mobile phone, tablet, laptop).
What items do I need to have close by for the visit?
Please have your government issued identification card, insurance card, credit card and/or health savings account information prior to beginning your VirtualCare visit.
What does it cost?
The cost of VirtualCare varies based on your insurance eligibility and your plan’s telehealth cost. If your insurance does not cover telehealth or you do not have insurance, VirtualCare is a flat fee of $65 per VirtualCare visit. Once you begin the VirtualCare process you will be asked to enter your payment information. Click Start VirtualCare to begin.
Great questions, but I have more inquires. Who do I call?
